Photographers are people too. Outside of being perpetually broke, uttering the line "help me, I'm poor" from the film Bridesmaids on a constant basis, we have all kinds of hobbies, needs, wants, and even a soul. Hard to believe, I know.
So, when I received this KICK-ASS watch for Christmas from my amazing better half, I had to write up a review and give it my seal of approval. The Casio G-Shock GA-1000-1A Aviation Series watch is the perfect all around utilitarian watch for the gadget geek in all of us. This one offers a slew of features you'd actually use on a daily basis. The Day and Date are displayed constantly in watch mode on the energy efficient black digital display, and you can toggle to the Temperature reading by clicking "SEARCH" which is the on the lower right-hand side of the bezel. It's fairly simple to navigate into other menus, trigger the Compass mode with it's own button, or use the awesome timer and stopwatch features. The Ergonomics are spot on and weight is nonexistent at 85 grams. The fit is ergonomic and oddly perfect even with it's precurved band base. I like wearing daily which isn't something I thought I could considering I'm a fan of large face, heavy watches like the Citizen Eco Drive Skyhawk. This watch makes a great gift for the outdoorsy guy, or complete klutz who smashes into everything like a bull in a china shop. Retails: $250 On sale: $148 on Amazon. Specs from Casio:
